Hi, I was wondering with a lot of people taking Turmeric now as a supplement and it being a MAO inhibitor has anyone heard of people having problems or contradictions for people consuming tryptamines at the same time? I know a lot of people take Turmeric alone which would have a fairly mild effect, but more recently the preparations one can buy have BioPerine added which is an extract from the Black pepper fruit and can potentialize Turmerics absorption from 10% to 90%. MAOI's are one of the things a good practitioner looks for before allowing a client to take Toad so is this something we should be looking out for?

I don't believe the MAOI properties of Turmeric are strong enough, even with BioPerine added, to have a significant effect on use of 5-MeO-DMT.

That being said, it would depend greatly on the individual and upon how much curcumin they were taking. Curcumin taken alone would probably not affect the experience much, but with the added BioPerine there is potential for some MAOI action. To err on the side of caution, it would perhaps be best to avoid any turmeric/curcumin supplements 48 hours before the use of 5-MeO-DMT.
