Interesting- thanks GuruD,

Yes, this could be the case as we only really use bics (cant remember why now-lol)...I will try a jet lighter again next time and see how that works.

usually I load two pipes of 7-10mg... the second one being there as a booster to the first- or as a re-entry after coming out from the first pipe if needed.

In regards to the question "What if my body gets torn apart?", I have found that initially there is a kind of adjustment or 'energetic' alignment of the body which can manifest as shaking, vibrating or tremors as you breath the universe though you and it breaths through you (remember as your hearts rate rises slightly and you have just held your breath with lungfuls of medicine, the body can take a minute or two to re-centre). After this, one can fully surrender and the body becomes like an empty vessel...like a didgeridoo or flute through which spirit flows freely which can physically express itself in a number of ways from throat chanting to mantras and the formation of hand-mudras or other symmetrical bodily poses or even a type of freestyle 'flow-state' dance. Feeling physically safe is vital to a good journey so having an experienced sitter is advisable or as you have indicated already start small and slowly and incrementally raise the dose until you obtain full-release.

It seems to me that the 'I' inhabiting your physical self does not so much become 'absorbed into/erased' by a higher cosmic 'I' ...than the ego-identified self is 'pushed aside' by the sheer force of universal consciousness. It is as though the ego is 'uncoupled' from the 'essential self' or essence of you (we could say spirit or soul) that is always connected to the divine, thus opening the channels for us to experience it wholly. The 'small self' does cease to exist in so much as it was always an illusion anyway, albeit a persistent one. This sense of 'I' as separate from its environment is a product of the Default Mode Network (a psychological term for what Huxley called 'the reducing valve') that filters and prioritises sensory information by selectively attenuating the bombardment of perceptual signals normally hitting our senses so that we can survive efficiently (hunt, eat, reproduce, etc). The effect of turning off the DMN is basically what one experiences with classic psychedelics like psilocybin, LSD, mescaline and DMT...hyperconnectivity of the sense, even synesthesia.

5-MeO however is the layer beyond this in which everything is so ultimately connected it has no other form but 'one' as all these parts form the sum totality of reality - and yes, what is left within your psyche for the duration of the journey is the free flow of infinite consciousness; mind, space, time, sound, vibration fused and re-merged into the state in which it arises from and ultimately returns to - one.

Aho -beautiful analysis Rising Spirit,

When we think of a classic psychedelic experience like DMT. LSD or Psilocybin there is often a disruption, dilation or distortion of normal boundaries like self/other, subject/object, inner/outer, mind/matter, then/now, etc...because everything is inherently connected and these categories are ultimately illusory.
While the classical psychedelics dissolves the edges between opposites allowing for the underlying field of connectivity to be witnessed, 5-MeO allows a direct line to the source from which the awareness, emergence and experience of these dualities flows.

However, as our minds are shaped by the relationship between things, these dualities are not to be seen as inherently bad, merely the way our shared reality is...just as our human understandings, thinking and behaviour, social group connections and prevailing cultural beliefs are predicated on our location in time and space - they are all made from me/we/I perspectives. The lessons to be gleaned from psychedelics come not just from shifting these perspectives, but from loosening the fixity that they have on us in everyday life and so I feel that what we are seeking in this 'waking life' is to move our awareness and thus our actions...to realise that we are not our thoughts and that thoughts are merely tools of the mind that we can use to shape our reality. We can do this by cultivating the 'essential-self'- the you that is beyond perspectives, patterns and place...the inner essence that is reminiscent of a child, fearless and free before conditioned responses and reactions moulded us to be a certain way in the world, certain modalities of living.

LSD, Psilocybin, DMT are all fantastic molecules for deeply exploring this power because they give us the time to engage with who and how we are, what we can be and want to be, show us different versions of ourselves in past, present and future, to heal and liberate ourselves from the patterned behaviour that we inherited from the environment we grew up in. The stimulation of the brains own neuro-plasticity is the key here, (kind of like hacking the placebo effect)  allowing it to rewire itself in such a way that serves the essential self by allowing the genesis of new vitality, empathy, curiosity, creativity, intuition, productivity and moving into a new way of being :)

Hi gurudedicationananda and welcome to the 5Hive,

What you may notice with the HcL salt is that while it vapourises fine, it will leave a carbon residue very quickly and your glass pipe will need to be cleaned out before the next dose will burn successfully. Also in regards to dosing these little anti-static polypropylene plastic 'Science' scoops are perfect as they come in 3mg, 7mg, 10mg & 15mg sizes https://www.coleparmer.com/i/asps-02-disposable-antistatic-pp-micro-scoops-3-7-mg-green-100-pk/0627754

Taking small doses in preparation for and leading up to for a breakthrough experience is a good approach as ir will indeed allow you some familiarity when you enter the territory making 'the transcendent state of enlightenment/samadhi' that much more likely. Preparing with a good meditation prior to the journey is also good as this will clear your mind of any clutter allowing a smoother transition and an easier surrender.

blessings and safe travels,

A very interesting chapter that provides somewhat of a cultural history of toad use in the West;

Hi Vendettr,

Integration support is and important and I hope we can help here.

There is a section called 'Preparation & Integration' dedicated to this in the forum here with some international contacts and reaching out to the organisations listed can really help. For one, writing down the issues that are presenting as a challenge to you is a great way to frame them for yourself - as is writing a testimonial of your experience with the medicine which we strongly encourage for many reasons. There is also a facebook group entitled 'Toad & 5-MeO DMT  Testimonials' in which I'm sure you will find many folks with similar experiences and facing similar challenges. I'm not sure where you are in the world, but local face to face support is invaluable and I have found that in the absence of a specific 'psychedelic integration therapist', looking for transpersonal psychologists or therapists will get you pretty close to someone who understands the weight of these experiences with the divine and who can guide you through some of the challenges that arise in their wake.

many blessings,

Rising spirit - this notion of a cosmic game of hide and seek reminds me of the passage in Benny Shanon's Antipodes of The Mind'; "a tale recounted to the author by an ice-cream vendor in the Peruvian Amazon"

"God wanted to hide his secrets in a secure place. 'Would I put them on the moon?' He reflected. 'But then, one day human beings could get there, and it could be that those who would arrive there would not be worthy of the secret knowledge. Or perhaps I should hide them in the depths of the ocean,' God entertained another possibility. But, again, for the same reasons, he dismissed it. Then the solution occurred to Him— 'I shall put my secrets in the inner sanctum of man's own mind. Then only those who really deserve it will be able to get to it.'

I think the act of attempting to articulate any aspect of the entheogenic experience is a key to finding our creative impulse i.e. the urge to render the ineffable via the gifts given to us as human creatures...art, dance, writing, music, storytelling, etc. I sometimes see this as part of the planetary organism (or the 'one consciousness') not only expressing itself and witnessing itself as it does through all existence, but communicating and disseminating the entheogenic key to the mystery - so that our creative expressions will spark in others 'a sense of divinity from within'...after all the psychedelic experience may well have been the spark that ignited the manifestation of these human cultural forms of making meaning in the first place :)

Welcome Jsurf,

The notion of 'curing' ourselves is an interesting one in relation to medicine work (curiously it seems that there are very high rates of tobacco smoking in the psychedelic/entheogenic community !?). I think the ability of these substances to heal really relies on the directing of intention and framing of a given issue and what appears to be happening is that the mind-manifesting properties of psychedelics help us to 'hijack' our mind's own placebo effect and make it work in our favour when applied to a specific problem and many times this is by "unloading emotional/physical blockages' and with 5-MeO I have seen how issue like anxiety and depression can arise at an energetic level, that is to say the subtle nervous system that informs our emotions.

Hi that and welcome,

It seems there are a number of reports of people reaching states that descriptively appear somewhat similar to 5-MeO, and I imagine the conception of this space of unitary consciousness is essentially the same, I am curious as to the different experiential aspects. From what I gather there is a typical n-n-dmt lead in or ramp up to the 'white-light' whereas 5-MeO is often full immersion in source from start to finish (if one fully surrenders form the outset).
Look forward to your future contributions,

Gracias

Hi Josh
A beautiful description and so very relatable. So often these medicines and especially 5-MeO seem to show us what's already there -
but I feel that this is the enlightening process, to reveal an essence of ourselves that has been hidden by layers of conditioning, constructed thought patterns and reactions...and the only way to see our inner light is to strip it all away and see what shines through with purity.
