I like Martin very much and follow his podcast. He creates conferences and devotes himself entirely to the matter. I can understand that someone look at him as a dickhead in some talks or interviews. I've learned some good tips from him but also think that the experience speaks for itself and and also doubt the meaning of his energy work. But he does it with love and dedication and he helps that someone gets their full "nondual" experiences.

I appreciate your thoughts here Gaius. I think that something good and useful can come from anyone regardless. The meaning of his energy is the part that I question most and his general demeanor as a practitioner. He definitely has some useful ideas regarding the experience itself and some interesting theories around it.

The guy, Martin sounds like a real dickhead.. no wonder he get anywhere near the funding for his tom foolery  :P ::) :o >:( :-\

Who knows? It's possible that he has good intentions...but if you don't know what you're doing and aren't aware of your effects it can be truly problematic.
I do think that the greater collective knows enough to avoid funding something that would promote something harmful.

General Discussion / Re: 5-meo-dmt dream experience
October 07, 2017, 05:09:58 PM
The best person who can interpret your dream is yourself. :)

What emotions did it bring up for you?
What did the dream mean to you?
How are you feeling about the dream now?
What is it you want?

One of the most important lessons that medicine work teaches me is that it is most important to come to my own conclusions about things while also taking in information as best as I can.

Gooday fine people,
Ive found sub-threshold doses, particularly, when done in succession ie: directly, one after the other, can bring about some profound cathartic releases.
It takes some getting used to, and can take some courage and determination particularly if its done alone. Perhaps because of working alone, the releases , Ive found personally can be very deep.
I don't know that I could have as easily let go in front of other people though.........especially during two sessions in particular. Both occasions were pretty messy in various ways and the fact that no one else was there to hear me wail and cry or to see me on my hands and knees purging was releaving, I didn't have to be on guard presenting an image. it was just one thing that didn't have to be worried about so I was able to go deeper and let go of more.
So I think that sub-threshold doses are great for doing release work and are a very valid and helpful way to use the medicine

I couldn't relate more to the feeling of not being able to have such a cathartic experience in front of someone/anyone. I've never experienced 5 meo... but I really do not like the idea of being around people while I'm having nn dmt experiences. I also will take 5-7g of mushrooms two or three times a year to release anything that needs to be. I don't like my roommates being home while I do this, because the weeping/sobbing/ chanting can get loud and it makes me uncomfortable unfortunately to risk my roommates hearing my insanity lol. I do like to have someone nearby just in case I need their support. Even a seasoned vet can be reminded that they are no match and must bow humbly to the essence of the mushroom (or whichever substance you are working with).

I'm happy I'm here. This is my first post other than my intro. Have a great day everyone

Welcome and thanks for being here with us!

It looks digital to me, but perhaps it is hand drawn? Will have to look at the artist's website...

Welcome to the 5 Hive, 5driedgrams!

Thanks for making an intro post. You may get responses here, but you may also want to post in the Questions section if you have any specific questions you'd like to discuss regarding toad care.

Hey there eternity,

It sounds to me from what you're saying that you're still pretty deep in the integration process. Taking more of the medicine doesn't sound like a good idea, as that could lead to further confusion.

Continuing to focus on finding the answers to those questions I posed would be a helpful way. Those answers can only be found within yourself, they aren't going to come from an external source or an external medicine. Before recommending it to anyone or before thinking about doing it again, find ways in which your life is asking to be changed. See how you can come more into alignment with what you have seen and learned. The message you got seems very clear, now it is up to you to put it into practice. Don't get caught in the trap of going on one trip after another thinking that the next trip will make it all clear to you. It's already clear. You did it! You made it to the center! Now it's time to align your day-to-day life with that and be a living example of what you now know. Then once that happens and you feel settled, then it may be time to think about going again.

This is all from my own personal experience. I have gone through phases where I thought I needed to keep going back in. But the truth was, the more frequently I went in, the less efficient I was at bringing things back and the more confused and ungrounded I became. Medicine work is a balanced process. We go in, take a big journey, and come back with lots to work on. Then we put in the time it takes to address those areas of growth and then once we regain balance and stability, we can go back in. That's the process.

As for sharing with others...it can be very easy to fall into the illusion that we are "the chosen ones" to spread the medicine to all those we know and love. However, with time and reflection I have come to see that it is not one individual's role to go around spreading medicine. The people that are called to it will truly find it if they are called. Otherwise, it becomes a thing that people do in order to just have the experience, they tend to be more like tourists at the Buddhist temple rather than actual initiates doing the meditation work. There have been many so-called psychedelic prophets that have existed in the past. An example is Nick Sand and Tim Scully. Both of them had visions that they were supposed to spread LSD all over the world. However, upon reflection (this is shown in the movie The Sunshine Makers), Tim Scully admits that the idea of spreading LSD to the world was an ego dream, an oversimplified solution to the larger issues at play. The solution isn't more medicine. The solution is better integration. This is the big lesson from the 60s and 70s that the psychedelic community needs to learn if it's going to grow and prosper going forward.

This, of course, is my opinion and there will be many other opinions. That being said, this is what I have found to be most effective in producing healthy, functioning people that are able to live out their dreams rather than being stuck in confusion about reality.

Love and Blessings,
Humble Voyager

That's one interpretation of it, yes. However, the experience will vary for each individual with some similarities based on their thought paradigm. I would still say that other entheogens have quite a bit of potential for learning in different ways. It seems to me at least that while this seems like the pinnacle of ego death, it transcends so much of the self that it can be difficult to make significant life changes unless lower doses are used and some serious thought and effort is put into integration.

I continue to work more with other medicines besides 5-MeO-DMT because they tend to speak more directly to the whole self, not just the transcended self.

You mention 5mg as a start off dosage, HV. Is that what you'd suggest that most people try for their first attempt with IM? I've seen much larger doses suggested in other parts of the forum that have worried me slightly.

Yes, I would say that 5mg IM would be a good low-moderate dose. 2.5mg might be a better place to start for someone naive to the substance. 10mg IM is enough for a full breakthrough for many.

I just was told recently that the HCL salt of 5-meo-dmt is easily burned and wasted if overheated.
Does this mean that it would be wiser to use a bic lighter when working with a meth pipe and touching the flame to the bottom of the glass, rather than using a micro-torch/jet-lighter and keeping the flame an inch or two away from the bottom of the pipe?
In other words, to avoid burning 5-meo-dmt HCL, should one use a bic lighter and gently heat the bottom of the pipe instead of using a high-heat jet lighter to attempt to vaporize the substance?
I don't want to burn or waste any of this precious material.
Thank you.

If you have the HCl form, the best way to administer it is rectally, intranasally, intramuscularly, or intravenously. While you can smoke it, it is true what they say about it burning really easily. If you MUST smoke it, then the best way would be to put it in a pipe and use a torch lighter but to keep the torch lighter far away from the pipe. This will require lots of practice and good smoking technique and honestly it's impossible to not waste any of the material when smoking. It's truly the most inefficient way of administering this substance (especially the HCl form).

If you want to read about rectal administration, there is some info on this thread that may be useful: https://forums.5meodmt.org/index.php?topic=50516.msg54520#msg54520

I would agree with Ralph and James. There really is more of a conscious transcendence with 5-MeO-DMT than there is with ketamine, for example. Although I would say that the ketamine experience might prepare some for the type of dissociative ego dissolution that can happen on 5-MeO-DMT. The main difference is that with ketamine, there isn't much capacity for fear while with 5-MeO-DMT there is. Ketamine also has this alluring quality, playing the game where you think you got it, and then you come out of it and forget and then wanting to go back in. It can happen with 5-MeO-DMT as well, but it seems that it happens less so.

Salvia is a strange beast altogether. I have very little experience with it so I can't comment much!
